Once we decided that adoption was our next step, we spent 3 months in thought and prayer about where to adopt from. The options of local, domestic and international were all open for us and we wanted to walk through whatever door we chose carefully.
All I knew was that I wanted to adopt a child who, had the chance for adoption not come their way, would more than likely not survive.
So we chose international. And with that, chose a third world country with an incredibly high mortality rate. Where the statistics for a long and healthy life were not in their favor.
With that said, Scott and I believe beyond anything else that a life is a life is a life is a life.
NO LIFE is more valuable than another. Whether the child was born in our city or in our country or in another country meant nothing more than their place of birth. Every child deserves to be rescued and to grow up in a loving home. God was leading our hearts to Ethiopia for one reason alone.
Our daughter or son will be born there.
And so, like any other parent, we pursue the path to finding them and bringing them home.
