First and most importantly, I am starting a new segment this month called “Family Is…” and I am SO EXCITED to share this with you. I have a fantastic group of writers who are already typing away and preparing for this… It’s going to be Incredimazing. Be on the lookout. Subscribe to my blog and wait patiently by your phone for the notification.
Actually, I have no idea if you can subscribe. Or what a subscription even is. Can someone try it and let me know? I would do it myself, but don’t even know where to look. I shouldn’t be allowed on technology.
Second, Scott and I have decided to host another Race Without Borders 5k. It will be coming your way sometime in May, 2015! So, dust off your running shoes. Stretch those hammies. And if you are like me, spend the next 3 months training. Because 3 miles ain’t what it used to be. I swear my GPS has it out for me. I feel like I have run a hundred miles but then my Nike+ app tells me in my ear that “You have a zillion more steps to go and you are incredibly slow and this will take you until bedtime if you don’t GET SOME FIRE UNDER YOUR TOOSH”.
Thirdly, California and I are becoming slow friends. One minute, I am all “You are the best thing that has ever happened to me sunshine and beach and mountain air” and the next moment I am SLAMMING on my brakes because I am a millisecond away from RUNNING OVER a human crossing the street because PEOPLE ARE OUTSIDE AND CROSSING STREETS like it is their job. Why can’t they have 3 designated bike paths for all of the humans of the city to walk on like my old town? You can’t expect me to drive and avoid vehicles with 100% accuracy if I ALSO must watch for roaming humans who just up and come out of nowhere!
Fourth and Finally, I was looking through my closet yesterday and realized that I need an intervention. Fashion friends, fly out here. Or Facetime me. Whichever is easier…you decide. I am wearing cardigans with holes and shirts from Old Navy’s 2009 collection and are colored pants still in? And what about my necklaces from a jewelry party back in 2011. Are those still acceptable? I bought some CVS pharmacy grade flats a few weeks ago when I forgot my dress shoes at the gym and was in a pickle…Should I keep wearing them (because I am)?
I know it is wrong. But, I don’t know how to be right.
