I just had the best rant ever. Complained about every person who overspends and undergives. Complained about people who complain about not having enough money when they clearly are doing just fine. Complained about people’s inability to see beyond their own situation to meet the needs of the desperate in their own neighborhood.
And, well, then I was reminded of my own inabilities to be a good human being.
Wasting time complaining should have been my first clue.
Are you ever just embarrassed of yourself sometimes? I mean, not only do I trip over baby gates that have been in the SAME POSITION for 6 months…sing incorrect lyrics at the top of my lungs around my husband, the wondersongboy…wear the majority of my clothes inside out a good portion of the week…
I am also selfish. and a gossip. and bratty. and self-indulgent.
I see need EVERYWHERE. And, while I can say that I am so proud to be married to someone who says yes more than he says no when it comes to helping someone/some organization, etc and has taught me more about giving than anyone else…
I still could do so much more.
So, while I am sitting here twiddling my thumbs waiting for our adoption to finalize and meet Emara’s newest sibling, I have decided that I am going to put my money where my mouth is…or my actions where my heart is. And use this blog as a means to bring to light the needs around me. Whether it be in my local community, nationwide or internationally.
See, I know that most of the people around me love to give and whenever they see something that tugs on their hearts, are incredibly generous in giving.
It’s just…sometimes, we don’t see it or we have a hard time finding it. I mean, has anyone ever tried finding a family to “adopt” at Christmas? I’m not kidding, it can be difficult!!!
SO. I am going to do the work for you 🙂 I am making it my mission to search out and find needs. And then post it here on this blog. You can read it, share it, email it, give to it or de-friend me altogether for annoying the crap out of your news feed (which I won’t do, promise).
Subscribe to my blog and (I think) you will get updates of when I blog. (Note to self…figure out how your blog works)
DM me, comment on this blog, FB message me any ideas you have.
And let’s do this.
